I. Introduction and History

CTP Construction was first established by its founder, Clarence Ty Pimentel, in 1969 as a sole proprietorship, leasing equipment to logging concessionaires in Mindanao, Philippines. In 1976 it was incorporated and the title changed to “CTP Construction Corporation”, a general contractor that eventually reached an “AAA” category specializing in the building of local and national roads bridges all throughout the Philippines. The company was reestablished in March 1999 as “CTP Construction and Mining Corporation” (henceforward CTPCMC). In 2007, CTPCMC ships its first shipment of mid-grade nickel ore products to its Australian buyer, Queensland Nickel.  The company is a one hundred percent (100%) Filipino owned mining company located in Barangay Adlay, municipality of Carrascal, in the province of Surigao del Sur, Mindanao with satellite offices in Cebu and in Manila.

In 2016, CTPCMC become a triple ISO certified company, one of a few in the Philippines (IMS 9001/14001/45001). In 2019, CTPCMC’s MPSA is renewed by the DENR for another 25 years. In the same year, the company is also awarded two Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Awards (PMIEA), Platinum Level, for both of its surface mining operations – the Adlay Mining Project and the Dahican Nickel Project. During the last quarter of 2019, the company has shipped close to 47 million wet metric tons of nickel ore products to the global market.

CTPCMC is an active member of the Philippine Nickel Industry Association and the Chamber of Mines Philippines.
